Ruggies Rug Grippers Review

Ruggies Rug Grippers Review

Users

I’ve got hardwood floors around my house, so I rely on lots of welcome mats and area rugs to protect the floors and add some color to my home. The trouble is trying to keep all these rugs in place:  They keep slipping and sliding around the floor. I’ve already tripped over one once and frankly, when they slide out of place they make me look like a bad housekeeper.

I’d thought about using double sided tape to keep the rugs in place, but I didn’t want to damage the rugs, or the floor, with the adhesive. I wasn’t sure what else to use when I saw an ad on TV for the Ruggies Rug Grippers. I bought a set and now my rugs stay in place and I don’t have to worry about tripping or damage!

How They Work

Ruggies are little black triangles made of a special material that sticks to rugs and floors without leaving any kind of residue. The side of the Ruggies that grips to the rug is made of a special Tacky type of technology, where the side that grips the floor is like a bunch of little suction cups that latch onto the floor to hold them in place.

They are very simple to use: just place a Ruggie in each corner of your rug or doormat and then place the rug or mat on the floor as usual. Now, press each corner into the floor and you are good to go. If the Ruggies ever lose their grip, just wash them in soap and water and they’ll become sticky again!

Check out the video below to see them in action:

Pros & Cons

As with any household product, there are advantages and disadvantages to using Ruggies, though I really do recommend the product. Here are a few pros and cons to consider:

Pros:

  • Can be used on any rug and any floor. Ruggies don’t make use of an adhesive, so you don’t risk damaging your rugs or flooring.
  • Non-toxic, won’t harm kids or pets!
  • Prevent trips by keeping your rugs in place.
  • Stays in place even when vacuuming.
  • Keeps your home looking neat and clean.
  • Keeps welcome mats “put,” so that people can wipe their feet without damaging your floor.
  • Prevents bending and damage to rug corners.

Cons:

  • Ruggies can temporarily lose their stickiness after exposure to dust and dirt. This is easily resolved, however, by simply washing the Ruggies and then re-attaching them to your rugs.

Where to Buy

Be sure to buy your Ruggies online, from the official website. I say this because there are big benefits to buying online: Not only do you get a money back guarantee (always handy), but they give you a really great bonus which was 16 Ruggies for the price of 8. They also gave me a free “mystery” gift which was pretty cool.

Final Recommendation

If you have welcome mats or area rugs in your home, you should definitely get Ruggies. They keep your home looking neat and well-kept while also preventing damage to your rugs and floors. Plus, they require little maintenance and won’t damage your floors or your rugs. Give them a try!

  1. I do not see a place to cancel an order. I accidently placed my first order and ordered 2 sets of 8 with 2 sets of 8 free. It did not have a place to press to confirm the order. I didn’t think that it went through. I then placed an order buy one set of 8 get 8 free. On my email I see both orders went through. Can you suggest how I can cancel the first order?

    • Hi Kathy,

I would just try to call the customer service number on the website and explain the situation. They should be able to cancel the second order for you without any problems.

  2. I have tried Ruggies on my rugs all over the house and they work wonderfully! I was constantly getting frustrated with my nice gel mat in front of my sink moving all over the place despite the rubber backing. Once I put Ruggies on the rug, it hasn’t budged. This is one of those inventions that you didn’t think you really needed but boy, are you happy that it came along.

  3. how can i get the Ruggies to stick to cement decking?

  4. Ruggies work wonderfully on my throw rugs on my tile floors in the kitchen…..however, I am very disappointed with them on my throw rugs in my carpeted bedroom. Even with the “tape” that was enclosed for extra hold, they simply will not stay stuck to the throw rug “or” the wall to wall carpet. I have a heavier runner and a very light weight area rug on my wall to wall carpet in my bedroom and, even with the tape, the area rugs will not stay put. Be aware of this when purchasing,

  5. I was very pleased to discover this great site. I want to to thank you for your time just for
this fantastic read!! I definitely appreciated every little bit of it and i also have
you saved to fav to see new things on your blog.

  6. I cannot get the ruggies to stay on my rug! I used the additional stick triangles and they won’t stick either. I have a normal rug with the typical backing. It seems like the actual ruggie keeps the rug from slipping but they won’t stay on the rug. Any suggestions.

  7. I agreee wth Shelley. I cannot get the Ruggies to stick to the throw rug. When I lift the rug to see if it did sticki i find the ruggie stuck to the hardwook floor.
